Cathodic
protection multipurpose junction boxes are designed to provide
flexibility to user to connect different type of structure /
equipments. Some of uses are as follows;
•
Used as a negative connection junction box
•
Used as a drain point junction box
•
Used as a reference electrode junction box
•
Used as a direct bond junction box
•
Used as a test station
•
Used as a anode junction box
•
Used as a cable splice junction box
Multipurpose
junction boxes are custom made and usually consist of an enclosure,
a nonmetallic mounting panel and components such as current
measurement shunts, variable resistors, cable lug, chamber cable,
etc.
The multipurpose
junction boxes are available with or without support frame assembly,
conduits and scrape pipe to direct burial.
AFIC has a wide range of test stations not limited to solely
measuring cathodic protection potentials only. AFIC is capable
of designing and supplying test stations custom tailored for
specific uses as defined by the customer. Test stations usually
consist of a body condulet or face plate, a metallic or non-metallic
pipe and components such as current measurement shunts, variable
resistors, cable lug, etc.
Following
are the most common type of test station;
•
Single pin test station complete with or without support assembly
and conduit
•
Three pin test station complete with or without support assembly,
current measuring shunt and conduit
•
Soil access test station complete with 4” diameter x 350mm
long PVC pipe
•
Flush fink test station complete with or without 4” diameter
x 350mm long PVC pipe and current measuring shunt
•
Big fink test station complete with or without 3” diameter
x 1524mm (5ft) long PVC pipe and current measuring shunt
